Many individuals with Pectus Excavatum do not present with any symptoms. However, for other individuals, the symptoms can be debilitating. Here is a list of some common symptoms (subjective feelings), but this list is not comprehensive.

  • Chest pain
  • Shortness of breath
  • General exercise intolerance
  • Light headedness
  • Heart palpitations
  • Arrhythmia
  • Psychological problems related to self-image

Pectus Excavatum has been shown to associate with several other conditions or signs (objective measures).

  • Marfan’s syndrome
  • Scoliosis
  • Decreased lung capacity
  • Heart compression
